Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care, in partnership with Community Health Network in Central Indiana, seeks a Physician Assistant to deliver urgent care services across a broad patient age range. You will assess, diagnose, and treat acute episodic conditions, working independently or with a physician, and escalating when needed.

The role requires 1+ year in urgent care or emergency medicine, NCCPA certification, and a Master’s PA degree. Expect varied shifts and a fast-paced environment in Central Indiana.

Qualifications

• 1 year of urgent care or emergency medicine experience
• Pediatric and adult care experience
• Ability to perform minor procedures (suturing, casting, splinting)
• Proficient in reads of EKGs and X-rays
• Master’s PA degree and NCCPA certification

Responsibilities

About the Role

As a Physician Assistant (PA), you will provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. You’ll treat acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. You’ll work independently or alongside a physician, using your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, while recognizing when to escalate care to emergency services.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and review patient medical histories
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
• Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications
• Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR
• Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention
• Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as needed
• Work scheduled shifts of 4, 8, or 12 hours as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed NP or PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting (required)
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (required)
• Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting, and splinting (required)
• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays (required)
• Physician Assistants: Master’s degree from an accredited PA program (required)
• NCCPA Certification (required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• Multilingual communication skills
• Familiarity with telemedicine platforms
• Basic understanding of medical billing and coding
