Job summary

Community Health Network, in partnership with GoHealth Urgent Care, seeks a Physician Assistant to provide broad clinical services to patients of all ages in urgent care settings in Central Indiana. You will treat acute episodic conditions, work with a physician when needed, and determine when to escalate care to emergency services.

The role requires a Master's PA degree, NCCPA certification, and experience with pediatric and adult patients, with proficiency in minor procedures and diagnostic

Qualifications

• 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed NP or PA in Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine (required)
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (required)
• Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting, and splinting (required)
• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays (required)
• Master’s degree from an accredited PA program (required)
• NCCPA Certification (required)

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and review patient medical histories
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
• Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications
• Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR
• Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention
• Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as needed
• Work scheduled shifts of 4, 8, or 12 hours as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

About the Role

As aPhysician Assistant (PA), you will provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. You’ll treat acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. You’ll work independently or alongside a physician, using your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, while recognizing when to elevate care to emergency services.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and review patient medical histories

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging

• Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications

• Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting

• Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR

• Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed NP or PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting (required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems

• Multilingual communication skills

• Familiarity with telemedicine platforms
