Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care in Central Indiana seeks a Physician Assistant to provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. You will diagnose and treat acute conditions, work independently or with a physician, and escalate to emergency services when needed.

The position requires 1 year of urgent care or emergency medicine experience, pediatric and adult care, suturing and splinting skills, and proficiency with EKGs/X-rays. PA master’s degree and NCCPA certification are required.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum full-time experience as PA/NP in Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine.
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patients.
• Comfort with suturing, casting, and splinting.
• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays.
• Master’s degree from an accredited PA program and NCCPA certification.

About the Role

As a Physician Assistant (PA), you will provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. You’ll treat acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. You’ll work independently or alongside a physician, using your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, while recognizing when to escalate care to emergency services.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and review patient medical histories
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
• Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications
• Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR
• Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention
• Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as needed
• Work scheduled shifts of 4, 8, or 12 hours as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed NP or PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting (required)
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (required)
• Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting, and splinting (required)
• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays (required)
• Physician Assistants: Master’s degree from an accredited PA program (required)
• NCCPA Certification (required)

Preferred Qualifications
