Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide urgent care services for patients of all ages in Central Indiana. The NP will work independently or with a physician, handling acute episodic conditions, ordering tests, prescribing treatments, and performing minor procedures.

The role requires a Master's degree in Nursing, national NP certification, and at least 1 year of Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine experience. Shifts include 4, 8, or 12 hours as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of full-time NP/PA Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine experience.
• Experience treating pediatric and adult populations.
• Proficient in EKG and X-ray preliminary reads.
• Master's degree in Nursing is required.
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC) is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and review patient histories.
• Order and interpret diagnostics and imaging.
• Diagnose conditions and prescribe treatments.
• Perform minor procedures (suturing, casting, splinting).
• Document encounters in the EMR.
• Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention.

About the Role

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. You'll treat acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. You'll work independently or alongside a physician, using your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, while recognizing when to elevate care to emergency services.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and review patient medical histories
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
• Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications
• Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR
• Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention
• Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as needed
• Work scheduled shifts of 4, 8, or 12 hours as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed NP or PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting (required)
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (required)
• Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting, and splinting (required)
• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays (required)
• Nurse Practitioners: Master's degree in Nursing (required)
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC) (required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• Multilingual communication skills
• Familiarity with telemedicine platforms
• Basic understanding of medical billing and coding
