Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care in Central Indiana is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide a broad range of urgent care services across ages, diagnosing and treating acute conditions, and collaborating with physicians when needed.

You will perform exams, order tests, interpret results, and perform minor procedures such as suturing and splinting. This role requires comfort with fast-paced environments, strong communication, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited PA program.
• NCCPA Certification.
• 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting.
• Experience treating pediatric and adult patients.
• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and review patient histories.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Diagnose conditions and prescribe treatments.
• Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting.
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR.
• Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention.
• Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as needed.

About The Role

As a Physician Assistant (PA), you will provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. You'll treat acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. You'll work independently or alongside a physician, using your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, while recognizing when to elevate care to emergency services.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams and review patient medical histories
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
• Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications
• Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR
• Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention
• Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as needed
• Work scheduled shifts of hours as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed NP or PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting (required)
• Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (required)
• Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting, and splinting (required)
• Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays (required)

Physician Assistants

• Master's degree from an accredited PA program (required)
• NCCPA Certification (required)

• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• Multilingual communication skills
• Familiarity with telemedicine platforms
• Basic understanding of medical billing and coding
