Job summary

Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care is seeking a Physician Assistant for a New Haven County float role in Hamden, CT. The team emphasizes provider support, structured scheduling, and strong earning potential.

The role includes evaluating patients across ages in urgent care, performing laceration repair, I&D, and other procedures, with collaboration across clinicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Active State Medical License required.
• Controlled Substance Registration required.
• Certification as Advanced Practitioner required.
• PALS and ACLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year in Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine preferred.
• Experience with laceration repair, incision and drainage, foreign body removal, and orthopedic care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients across all ages in a fast-paced urgent care setting.
• Perform common urgent care procedures including laceration repair, incision and drainage, wound management, splinting, and foreign body removal.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, nursing teams, and specialists to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

• State Medical License
• Controlled Substance Registration
• Certification as an Advanced Practitioner

• A minimum of 1 year of full‑time experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting is preferred.
• Candidates must possess a strong background in performing routine procedures, such as laceration repair, incision and drainage, foreign body removal, and treatment of orthopedic‑related conditions.
• Relevant professional experience required; this position is best suited for candidates with prior experience in the field.
