Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide direct patient care in a specialty clinic setting. The provider will work under physician supervision, with prescriptive authority and credentialing as an independent provider by Medicare/Medicaid.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, ordering tests, developing treatment plans, counseling patients, and maintaining detailed records. Requires Texas PA licensure and NCCPA certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA program.
• Texas PA license or eligibility.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients through comprehensive or problem-focused exams and histories.
• Order, obtain, and interpret labs and tests as part of care.
• Prescribe or recommend medications and therapies following approved protocols.
• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans with physician oversight.
• Counsel patients and families on medical processes, medications, nutrition, and health promotion.
• Maintain accurate records of treatments and outcomes and initiate referrals when needed.
