Qualifications

• Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program by start date.
• California Physician Assistant License required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.
• National Provider Identifier (NPI) required at hire.
• Physician Assistant National Cert issued at hire.
• Fluoroscopy Permit required, or obtained within 18 months in Orthopedics/IR/Radiation Oncology.
• Experience and competency in department-specific tasks may be required.
• Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team under supervising physician.
• Examine patients and compile medical data during visits.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Perform injections, suturing, wound care; manage infections.
• First assist in surgeries where applicable.
• Provide pre/post-operative education and discharge planning.
• Support on-call responsibilities as required.
• Document progress notes and care plans.
• Round on inpatients as needed.
