Job summary

Chestnut Health is seeking a motivated Physician Assistant to join our physiatry team. You will work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment focused on functional outcomes and independence.

New graduates are encouraged to apply. Essential duties include developing and implementing rehab plans with therapists and nurses, conducting comprehensive assessments, monitoring progress, and participating in team meetings to advance clinical skills.

Qualifications

• Actively Licensed to practice in the state of which employed.
• Current Controlled Substance License (required upon start date).
• Current DEA License (required upon start date).
• NCCPA Certificate.
• Desire to work in Physiatry/Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
• Orthopedic Experience considered a nice-to-have.
• Physiatry Experience considered a nice-to-have.
• Skilled Nursing Experience considered a nice-to-have.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with diverse rehabilitation needs.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations, to determine rehabilitation goals and interventions.
• Monitor patient progress closely and adjust treatment plans to optimize functional outcomes and independence.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and educational activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
• Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in EMR systems.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding rehabilitation and post-discharge care.
