Job summary

Chestnut Health in Mayville, ND is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our physiatry team. You will collaborate with therapists, nurses, and clinicians to implement comprehensive rehabilitation plans and improve patient independence.

You will conduct thorough assessments, monitor progress, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings while maintaining accurate EMR documentation and providing patient education.

Qualifications

  • Actively licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in the employing state.
  • Current Controlled Substance License required on start date.
  • Current DEA license required on start date.
  • NCCPA certification.
  • Interest in Physiatry/Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and other professionals to plan rehab treatments.
  • Conduct patient assessments including history, exams, and evaluations.
  • Monitor progress and adjust plans to optimize independence.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and educational activities.
  • Document initial evaluations, plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in EMR.
  • Educate patients and families about rehabilitation and post-discharge care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with diverse rehabilitation needs.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations, to determine appropriate rehabilitation goals and interventions.
  • Monitor patient progress closely and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize functional outcomes and promote independence.
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and educational activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of initial evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in electronic medical records systems.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding the rehabilitation process, expected outcomes, and post-discharge care.

Qualifications:

  • Actively Licensed to practice in the state of which employed
  • Current Controlled Substance License (required upon start date)
  • Current DEA License (required upon start date)
  • NCCPA Certificate
  • Desire to work in Physiatry/Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
  • Orthopedic Experience (nice to have)
  • Physiatry Experience (nice to have)
  • Skilled Nursing Experience (nice to have)

License/Certification:

  • Certified Physician Assistant (Required)
