Job description

Physician Assistant – Interventional Pain

SpineSearch is seeking a physician assistant to join a leading health system's outpatient office under an interventional pain physician.

This is a Monday through Friday opportunity offering comprehensive benefits.

Base Pay Range

$130,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and physical exams focused on chronic and acute pain conditions
  • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physician
  • Perform and assist with interventional procedures (e.g., trigger point injections, joint injections, nerve blocks – based on state scope of practice)
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests (e.g., imaging, labs)
  • Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust plans as needed
  • Educate patients on pain management options, medications, procedures, and preventive care
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, behavioral health, and pharmacy
  • Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, in compliance with state and federal laws
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in the EMR system
  • Ensure continuity and quality of care in both outpatient and procedural settings
Requirements
  • Current and valid Physician Assistant (PA-C) license in the state of practice
  • Graduation from an accredited PA program
  • NCCPA certification (required)
  • DEA license with Schedule II-V prescribing authority (or ability to obtain)
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic pain management modalities
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
