Job summary

Spooner Sports Institute in Phoenix, AZ is hiring a Technician to support physical therapists, help patients perform exercises, and monitor safety during treatment sessions.

You will guide activities like ambulation and daily living tasks, document progress, and communicate patient responses to the therapist. A high school diploma or GED is required, and the role is full-time with benefits.

Qualifications

• Assist physical therapists with designated aspects of patient care and serving our patients to ensure safety, successful execution of exercise, and a positive outcome.
• Instruct, motivate, and assist patients to learn and improve functional activities such as perambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily-living activities.
• Safeguard, motivate, and assist patients practicing exercises and functional activities under direction of professional staff. Demonstrate correct activity form.

Responsibilities

• Assist therapists in patient care and ensure safety during prescribed exercises.
• Instruct and motivate patients to perform functional activities and daily living tasks.
• Observe patients and document responses to treatment for progress tracking.
• Communicate patient progress to the therapist.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Kinesiology/Biology/Exercise Science (preferred)

Qualifications: What You’ll Be Doing

• Assist physical therapists with designated aspects of patient care and serving our patients to ensure safety, successful execution of exercise, and a positive outcome
• Instruct, motivate, and assist patients to learn and improve functional activities such as perambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily-living activities.
• Safeguard, motivate, and assist patients practicing exercises and functional activities under direction of professional staff. Will be required to demonstrate correct activity form or function.
• Observe the patient during various physical activities designed in the treatment plan, compiling progress on patients’ response to treatment.
• Effectively communicate patient progress and reactions to treatment to the therapist.

What You Bring to the Role

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 18 years of age or older
• Majoring in Kinesiology/Biology/Exercise Science (preferred)
• Prior experience or knowledge as a physical therapy technician
