Job summary

Spooner is seeking a Technician in Phoenix, AZ to assist physical therapists and help patients achieve safe, effective exercise sessions. You’ll support treatment plans, monitor patients, and ensure a positive, engaging environment.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, a willingness to learn, and prior experience as a physical therapy technician. The role is full-time with benefits and opportunities for growth within Spooner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Majoring in Kinesiology/Biology/Exercise Science preferred.
• Prior experience as a physical therapy technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists with designated aspects of patient care and serving our patients to ensure safety, successful execution of exercise, and a positive outcome
• Instruct, motivate, and assist patients to learn and improve functional activities such as perambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily-living activities.
• Safeguard, motivate, and assist patients practicing exercises and functional activities under direction of professional staff. Will be required to demonstrate correct activity form or function.
• Observe the patient during various physical activities designed in the treatment plan, compiling progress on patients' response to treatment.
• Effectively communicate patient progress and reactions to treatment to the therapist.
