Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing team in Bath, New York. You will work under a supervising PTA, providing care to residents in a state-of-the-art rehab setting.

Ideal candidates are licensed in New York, graduate of an accredited PTA program, and familiar with geriatric care. New grads with fieldwork are encouraged to apply; benefits include comprehensive coverage and professional development options.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited PTA program and licensed in NY.
• Preference for SNF/geriatric care experience; new grads welcome with fieldwork.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set by the supervising PTA.
• Measure and record residents' motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Utilize techniques such as stretching and massage; assist with exercises.
• Maintain confidentiality to support resident trust.
• Comply with federal/state/local laws and professional standards.
• Maintain cooperative relationships within the healthcare team.

PTA Requirements Include:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program

• Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License

• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting is preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply

  
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist

• Treat residents with varieties of techniques, like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.

• Maintains Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.
