Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a Full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a Skilled Nursing Facility in Cooperstown, NY. The PTA will follow the supervising therapist's plan of care, measure resident function, and document progress while supporting a team of healthcare professionals.

Ideal candidates are NY-licensed PTAs with SNF or geriatric care exposure; new graduates with relevant fieldwork are welcome. We offer comprehensive benefits and mentorship in a state-of-the-art rehab setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting is preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure and record residents' motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document residents' performance.
• Treat residents with techniques such as stretching and massage, assist with exercises.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with legal and professional requirements.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist

• Treat residents with varieties of techniques, like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.
• Maintains Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team
