Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a full-time role in a Skilled Nursing Facility in Syracuse, NY. The PTA will follow the supervising therapist's plan of care and help residents regain mobility through therapeutic techniques and supervised exercises.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited PTA program and active NY PTA licensure; SNF or geriatric care experience is preferred, but new grads with fieldwork are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Current New York State PTA license.
• Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care preferred; new grads with fieldwork welcome.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure and record residents' motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document residents' performance.
• Treat residents with techniques like stretching and massage; assist with exercises.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with legal requirements.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among the healthcare team.

Sigma Health Rehab is excited to offer a Full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) position to join our team of skilled therapists in a Skilled Nursing Facility.

PTA Requirements Include:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program
• Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting is preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document on resident performance.
• Treat residents with varieties of techniques, like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.
• Maintains Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team
