Job summary

Lifepoint Rehabilitation is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a full-time position at St. Mary Medical Center. The PTA will implement treatment plans, monitor patient responses, document progress, and educate patients and families on deficits and discharge planning.

Responsibilities include selecting appropriate modalities, communicating with supervising therapists, and assisting with equipment choices and community resources to support patient independence.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA).
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Previous experience in patient care preferred.

How you'll contribute

A Physical Therapist Assistant who excels in this role:

• Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities. Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan. Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
• Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Assists with patient discharge planning.
• Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
