Job summary

Fleming County Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant in KY to support a Patient mobility and rehabilitation program. The PTA will work under a Physical Therapist to help patients develop, recover and maintain physical mobility and function.

The role involves implementing treatment plans, monitoring progress, documenting responses, educating patients and families, and aiding discharge planning with adaptive equipment and community resources.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree required.
  • KY licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy services to develop, recover and maintain mobility.
  • Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities and seeks consultation as necessary.
  • Monitors patient responses to the treatment plan and communicates progress to the physical therapist.
  • Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
  • Educates patient and family/caregiver about deficits and discharge planning, including adaptive equipment and community support programs.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.

  • Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities. Seeks consultation as necessary.
  • Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan. Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
  • Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
  • Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
  • Assists with patient discharge planning.Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree Required, Graduate of a Program in Discipline
  • Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of KY
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
