Job summary

Central Carolina Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. You will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to help patients develop, recover, and maintain mobility and function.

You will implement treatment plans, monitor responses, document progress, educate patients and families, and assist with discharge planning and adaptive equipment guidance. A valid PTA degree and licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; graduate of a PTA program.
• PTA license in KY (state licensure) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide PT services under supervision of a PT to develop, recover, and maintain mobility.
• Implement treatment plans and adjust as advised by supervising therapist.
• Monitor patient responses and communicate progress to the PT.
• Document services and patient progress.
• Educate patient and family about deficits and discharge planning.
• Assist with selection of adaptive equipment and community resources.

How You Will Contribute

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.

• Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities. Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan. Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
• Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
• Assists with patient discharge planning.
• Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs

What We Are Looking For

• Associate's degree Required, Graduate of a Program in Discipline
• Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of KY
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
