Job summary

Fleming County Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide services under supervision to improve mobility and function. The role focuses on implementing treatment plans, monitoring progress, documenting patient responses, and educating patients and families.

Responsibilities include discharge planning and guidance on adaptive equipment and community resources. Minimum qualifications include an Associate's degree, KY PTA status, and BLS certification;

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; graduate of a program in discipline.
• Physical Therapy Assistant license/certification in KY state or eligibility.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.
• Monitors patient progress and communicates progress and goal revisions to the physical therapist.
• Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
• Educates patient and family/caregiver about deficits.
• Assists with patient discharge planning.
• Provides information regarding adaptive equipment and community support programs.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.

• Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities. Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Monitors patient’s responses to the treatment plan. Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
• Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
• Assists with patient discharge planning.
• Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's degree Required, Graduate of a Program in Discipline
• Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of KY
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
