Job summary

Kindred Hospital Louisville is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA) for a full-time days position at a long-term acute care facility. This role, within Lifepoint Health's network, offers a $7500 sign-on bonus for external applicants and a comprehensive benefits package.

Under supervision of a Physical Therapist, you will implement treatment plans, monitor progress, document outcomes, and participate in discharge planning to promote mobility and independence for patients.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required.
• Graduate of a PTA program.
• Active KY PTA license/registration.
• BLS certification required.
• Critical thinking and decisive judgment with ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plans developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.
• Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Monitors patient responses to the treatment plan.
• Communicates patient progress and goal revisions to the physical therapist.
• Documents services provided and patient progress.
• Educates patient and family about deficits.
• Assists with discharge planning.

How you'll contribute:

A Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA) who excels in this role:

• Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.
• Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan.
• Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
• Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
• Assists with patient discharge planning.
• Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.

What We Are Looking For:

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.

• Associate's degree Required
• Graduate of a Program in Discipline
• Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of KY
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
