Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners is seeking a Physical Therapy Aide to support daily therapy operations in our Peabody, MA location. You will assist therapists, prepare treatment areas, and help patients with exercises while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, and ideally one year of PT or medical office experience. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential in this fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• One year of physical therapy experience preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, insurance regulations and policies.
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions.
• Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
• Maintain professional relationships with patients and staff.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude and patience.
• Represents the clinic in a professional manner.
• Maintain strict confidentiality on patient issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean and organize work area and disinfect equipment after treatment.
• Prepare and maintain a safe and clean working environment per procedures and regulations.
• Observe patients during treatment and report to physical therapist.
• Instruct and assist patients with exercises under supervision.
• Discuss and evaluate patient information with PT for planning treatment.
• Transport patients to treatment areas and assist as needed.
• Prepare treatment area and equipment for patient use.
• Assist patients into therapy apparel and positioning.
• Answer patient questions and provide information.
• Apply heat packs, paraffin, whirlpool, and monitor motion and mobility.
• Enter stats into Track Via and manage FOTO patient discharges.
• Educate patients on equipment use and exercise routines.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Sterilize and deliver equipment to treatment area; maintain inventory.
• Perform related work as required.
