Job summary

The Staff Physical Therapist evaluates and treats residents, communicates with families, physicians and other health team members, and maintains documentation of services in the medical records. Conducts in-services and training for facility staff on an ongoing basis.

The role also includes supervising PT assistants, developing treatment plans, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team, and contributing to quality assurance and program development while maintaining confidentiality and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy is required or equivalent.
• Masters/Doctorate preferred.
• Licensed to practice as a PT in the state.
• CPR certification may be required by licensure.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents to determine PT needs and rehabilitation potential.
• Develop and update individualized treatment plans to improve mobility.
• Supervise PT assistants and staff in resident care.
• Communicate with physicians, nursing staff, and families regarding progress and discharge planning.
• Contribute to quality assurance, performance improvement, and program development.
