Job summary

Mercy seeks a Physical Therapist to join our Missouri facility. You will perform objective assessments and design personalized treatment plans for adults and seniors, under therapy leadership.

You’ll supervise rehabilitation technicians and PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts, ensuring high-quality care aligned with Mercy standards and a compassionate team culture.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor, Master or Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
• Current/Temporary Physical Therapy license in the practicing state.
• BLS certification; current before independent patient care.
• Six months to one year rehab experience preferred.
• Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for adults and geriatrics.
• Direct supervision of patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians.
• General supervision of PT assistants in line with State Practice Acts.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Physical Therapist

Shift: Days, Full-Time

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.

Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
