Job summary

Mercy Rehab Center at Mercy Hospital Southeast is seeking a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to assess adults and geriatrics and create individualized treatment programs. You will supervise rehab technicians and PT assistants under state rules, and ensure care aligns with Mercy standards.

Required education includes a PT degree and current licensure; BLS certification is mandatory. A weekend shift is offered with a $10,000 sign-on bonus and potential 6–12 months experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the state of practice.
• BLS certification current before independent patient care.
• Education required: PT degree as listed.
• Preference for 6–12 months Rehabilitation PT experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans for adults and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision of rehabilitation technicians and supervision of PT assistants per State Practice Act.

Under the general supervision of the Rehab Therapy supervisor at the Rehab Center at Mercy Health Center, and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Act. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Shift: Weekend

$10,000 Sign-On Bonus

• Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
• Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.
• Physical Requirements: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
