MedStar Health is looking for a Physical Therapist to join our team at Bel Air MACC - Therapy! The ideal candidate will be a licensed physical therapist with professional competency as a general practitioner in physical therapy, demonstrating varied evaluation and treatment approaches, excellent customer service skills for interacting with patients of diverse ages and backgrounds, and effective communication skills.

The Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation across various settings. The role involves participating in program planning, protocol development, and team goal achievement.

Primary Duties

• Provides evaluation services, reviews pertinent historical information, performs assessments, and documents results. Explains findings and treatment plans to patients and families, involving them in goal setting.
• Demonstrates proficiency in implementing treatment protocols based on evaluation findings and patient presentation. Consults with healthcare professionals as needed, recognizing and documenting changes requiring plan modifications.
• Completes discharge planning and follow-up care, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Manages time effectively, meets productivity expectations, and maintains an accurate schedule. Shows professionalism and flexibility to provide seamless patient access to care, demonstrating empathy and adaptability.
• Pursues continuing education for professional growth, serves as a clinical instructor, and assists in orientation and mentoring of staff, students, and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
• Licensure in Maryland, District of Columbia, and/or Virginia as required for the specific location.
• American Heart Association’s BLS certification for Healthcare Providers and CPR certification.
