General Summary of Position

MedStar Health is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to join our team at MHPT @ Rosedale - Ortho & Hand Center. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professional competency as a general practitioner in physical therapy, utilizing varied evaluation and treatment approaches, with strong customer service skills for interacting with patients of diverse ages and backgrounds. Effective communication skills are essential.

The Physical Therapist will provide services including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation across various settings. Participation in program planning and protocol development is also expected to support team goals.

Primary Duties:

1. Provide evaluation services, review pertinent information, perform assessments, and document results. Explain findings and involve patients and families in goal setting.
2. Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation findings and patient presentation. Consult with other healthcare professionals as needed. Recognize and document changes requiring care plan modifications.
3. Complete discharge planning and follow-up care. Document and charge for care activities accurately and timely, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
4. Demonstrate effective time management, meet productivity expectations, and manage an accurate schedule. Provide patient-centered care with flexibility, empathy, and adaptability.
5. Engage in continuing education for professional growth. Serve as a clinical instructor and assist with orientation and mentoring of staff, students, volunteers, and technicians.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
2. Licensure in Maryland, District of Columbia, and/or Virginia as required for the specific location.
3. American Heart Association’s BLS certification and CPR certification.
