Job summary

UPMC in Pennsylvania is seeking a Physical Therapist to evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapy to a diverse population. You will monitor progress and educate patients to improve mobility and quality of life.

The role follows a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends or holidays, offering a sign-on bonus up to $15,000, competitive retirement benefits, PSLF eligibility, continuing education opportunities, and tuition reimbursement support.

Qualifications

• Active license in practicing state required.
• CPR required based on AHA standards within 30 days of hire.
• Graduate of an accredited program approved by the APTA.
• Outpatient ortho and/or neuro experience, preferred.
• New graduates welcome and training may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments.
• Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on patient progress.
• Document patient care, treatment outcomes, and discharge planning.
• Communicate patient status with physicians and the healthcare team.
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants.
• Provide home exercise programs and patient/family education.
• Rotate through treatment areas as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and professional development.
• May serve as a clinical instructor for PT students and residents.

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

About The Role

As a Physical Therapist, you will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based therapy interventions, monitor progress, and educate patients and families to help achieve optimal outcomes. You will work with a diverse patient population, helping individuals improve mobility, strength, balance, function, and overall quality of life.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Physical Therapist (PT)
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
