Job summary

UPMC is actively seeking a Physical Therapist to join our rehabilitation team. You will evaluate patients, design individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapies to improve mobility and quality of life. New graduates are welcome and training will be provided.

The role involves patient and family education, collaboration with physicians, and supervision of PTAs. Schedule is Monday–Friday, with no weekends, and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an APTA-approved program and active state license.
  • BLS/CPR certification required.
  • Outpatient experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and effective communication.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments.
  • Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on patient progress.
  • Document patient care, treatment outcomes, and discharge planning.
  • Communicate patient status with physicians and the healthcare team.
  • Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants.
  • Provide home exercise programs and patient/family education.
  • Rotate through treatment areas as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and professional development.
  • May serve as a clinical instructor for PT students and residents.

About The Role

As a Physical Therapist, you will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based therapy interventions, monitor progress, and educate patients and families to help achieve optimal outcomes. You will work with a diverse patient population, helping individuals improve mobility, strength, balance, function, and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM

No weekends

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • No holidays
  • No on-call
  • Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
  • Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.
  • Outpatient experience, preferred

Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Physical Therapist (PT)
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
