Job summary

Sheltering Arms Institute, in partnership with VCU Health, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant for our Bon Air outpatient center to support neurological and orthopedic patients.

You will provide quality PT services under the supervision of a licensed PT, document and communicate with the care team, and supervise therapy support staff and students.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant educational program required.
• Virginia licensure to practice or eligibility and application for licensure required.
• Healthcare professionals CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality, comprehensive, patient-centered physical therapy services under the direction of the physical therapist.
• Document and communicate with team members; supervise non-licensed personnel.
• Instruct therapy support staff, students, other team members, patients and caregivers.

Sheltering Arms Institute is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our outpatient team. This position provides coverage at our Bon Air outpatient center for neurological and orthopedic conditions. The Physical Therapist Assistant provides quality, comprehensive, patient‑centered physical therapy services including administration of a treatment plan under the direction and supervision of the physical therapist, documentation and communication with team members, and supervision to non‑licensed personnel. Instructs therapy support staff, students, other team members, and patient and/or caregivers.

Compensation

• $26.00 - $44.00 per hour
• This range reflects our commitment to pay equity and market‑competitive compensation.
• Final compensation depends on experience, skills, and internal equity.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience in outpatient rehabilitation preferred.

Education/Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant educational program required.
• Virginia licensure to practice or eligibility and application for licensure by the Physical Therapy Board of the Virginia State Board of Health Professions required.
• Healthcare professionals CPR certification required.
