Job summary

Inglewood Healthcare Center seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat residents, restore function, and promote healing through exercise, heat, ultrasound, massage and related therapies. The role includes planning care, instructing patients and families on devices, and maintaining accurate records.

Under physician orders, the PT will assess neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues, perform tests, and devise individualized treatment plans, including home assessments when discharge

Qualifications

• Candidate must hold a PT license in California.
• Covid-19 vaccine is required.
• 1 year of clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats residents with physical disabilities to relieve pain and restore function.
• Administers tests and measures for strength, ROM, coordination, and cardiopulmonary efficiency.
• Provides direct resident treatment per established plan of care.
• Instructs patients and families in use of mobility aids and devices.
• Maintains patient records and supports compliance with regulations.
• Performs home assessments to ensure safe discharge environments.

Job description

SUMMARY

Physical Therapist (PT) evaluates and treats residents and patients with temporary or long term physical disabilities to relieve pain, restore function, and promote healing by applying the therapeutic properties of exercise, heat, ultrasound, massage and other forms of treatment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Under a physician’s order, performs the following within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Evaluates, plans and administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers and interprets tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct resident treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Instructs patients, families, and caregivers in the care and use of wheelchairs, braces, canes, crutches and other devices.
• Maintains patient records.
• Devises special tools and treatment for the specific needs of patients.
• Conducts home assessments as appropriate to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current license to practice Physical Therapy issued by State’s Board of Allied Health Professionals.
• Covid 19 vacine required
• Must be in compliance with the state of California Covid Mandate

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May provide onsite supervision to Physical Therapist Assistants, Rehab Aides, and provisional physical therapists per state practice guidelines.
