Job summary

Mariner Healthcare seeks a Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat residents with physical disabilities, relieving pain and restoring function using exercises, heat, ultrasound, and massage. You will work under physician orders and follow established plans of care in a regulated setting.

Responsibilities include administering tests, providing on-site resident care, instructing patients and families, maintaining records, and ensuring safe discharges through home assessments while meeting state

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Physical Therapy
• 1 year of clinical experience preferred
• Current license to practice Physical Therapy by State Board
• Covid-19 vaccine required
• In compliance with CA Covid mandate

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat residents with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues
• Perform tests and measurements for strength, ROM, and vital functions
• Provide direct patient treatment per plan of care
• Instruct patients and caregivers in use of devices
• Maintain patient records
• Develop specialized treatment tools as needed
• Conduct home assessments for safe discharge
• Complete forms per company policy and regulations

Job description

SUMMARY

Physical Therapist (PT) evaluates and treats residents and patients with temporary or long term physical disabilities to relieve pain, restore function, and promote healing by applying the therapeutic properties of exercise, heat, ultrasound, massage and other forms of treatment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.

Under a physician’s order, performs the following within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Evaluates, plans and administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers and interprets tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct resident treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Instructs patients, families, and caregivers in the care and use of wheelchairs, braces, canes, crutches and other devices.
• Maintains patient records.
• Devises special tools and treatment for the specific needs of patients.
• Conducts home assessments as appropriate to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current license to practice Physical Therapy issued by State’s Board of Allied Health Professionals.
• Covid 19 vacinne required
• Must be in compliance with the state of California Covid mandate

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May provide onsite supervision to Physical Therapist Assistants, Rehab Aides, and provisional physical therapists per state practice guidelines.
