Job summary

The Cerebral Palsy League in Cranford, NJ is seeking a part-time School Physical Therapist to support students under an Individualized Education Program (IEP). The position requires NJ certification as a School PT and state licensure, plus experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

You will perform assessments, prepare progress reports, contribute to goal setting with the Direct Service Team, and implement PT goals as written in the IEP.

Qualifications

• NJ Department of Education Certification as a School Physical Therapist required.
• NJ License as Physical Therapist required.
• Experience in providing physical therapy to persons with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and safeguard each family/student’s right to privacy, respect and confidentiality.
• Perform assessments and reports as requested.
• Assist in the formulation of goals and objectives with the Direct Service Team as assigned.
• Implement Physical Therapy Goals and objectives as written in the IEP.
• Prepare daily notes, quarterly progress reports, annual reviews and summaries and all other required documentation.
• Provide instruction to interdisciplinary team and family concerning appropriate techniques of physical therapy.
• Attend meetings to provide updates, reports, etc.
• Maintain knowledge of trends, directions and changes as it relates to the delivery of physical therapy services.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and able to assist in a two-person lift of a child and/or adult. Must be able to do frequent bending, kneeling and sitting. Must be able to stand for multiple hours at a time.

Overall Description

To provide Physical Therapy as per Individualized Educational Program for students and to support the student’s total program.
