Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Physical Therapist for a full-time day shift in Rehabilitation Services. The role involves evaluation, planning and directing physical therapy treatments as prescribed by a physician.

You will supervise staff, contribute to CQI, maintain department operations, and ensure safety and infection control while delivering high-quality care to patients. Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited PT program with TX licensure and strong communication skills;

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of physical therapy required.
• Current registered physical therapist license in the State of Texas required.
• Organizational skills is necessary.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians.
• Prefer outpatient rehabilitation experience.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others.
• Responsible for direction of the Physical Therapy Department certified staff, including Physical Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapy Aides.
• Ability to observe and evaluate treatment effect, recommends change to physician as needed.
• Ability to perform an appropriate assessment on all patients as related to the therapy requested and provided and reassessments as per policy.
• Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning.
• Demonstrates knowledge of physical therapy modalities.
• Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity; addresses psychosocial needs.
• Manages and operates equipment safely and maintains department cleanliness and safety.
• Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the plan of care.
• Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure needs are met and policy followed.
