Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist for Days in OP Orthopedics & Sport Therapy. The role evaluates and treats patients, directs therapy modalities, and coordinates with staff to optimize outcomes while maintaining budget and compliance.

Responsibilities include supervising PTA and Therapy Technicians, ensuring HIPAA compliance, and contributing to CQI activities in a fast-paced rehab setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of physical therapy required.
• Current registered physical therapist License in the State of Texas required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Organizational skills is necessary.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians.
• Prefer outpatient rehabilitation experience.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values; communicates them to others.
• Directs the Physical Therapy Department staff, including PTAs and aides.
• Observe and evaluate treatment effect; recommend changes to physician as needed.
• Assess patients and reassess per policy; include geriatric and general populations.
• Develop teaching plans and involve family in care.
• Demonstrates knowledge of physical therapy modalities.
• Treats patients with respect; addresses psychosocial needs.
• Maintains equipment safety and department cleanliness.
• Coordinates patient care to meet needs and budget guidelines.
• Maintains records and ensures HIPAA compliance.
