Job summary

Interim HealthCare - Ringling Group in Globe, Arizona is seeking a Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for part-time or full-time opportunities. You will deliver home-based PT to patients, helping them regain mobility and manage pain in a personalized home setting.

As part of a supportive team, you’ll work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, coordinate with RN/LPN/CNA/HHA/OT/SLP, document exercises, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program and active PTA license in Arizona.
• Minimum one year of PTA experience, preferably in home health care.

Responsibilities

• Provide home-based physical therapy to patients with mobility and strength challenges.
• Work as part of a home health team focused on patient plan of care and goals.
• Act under supervision of the treating Physical Therapist and follow the plan of care.
• Document exercises in patient charts and provide home exercise printouts as directed.
• Educate patients and families with exercises under supervision of the Physical Therapist.

As a Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

• Provide home-based physical therapy to patients who have lost mobility, strength, and functionality due to illness or injury
• Work as part of a home health team, which may include an RN, LPN, CNA, HHA, OT, and SLP, focused on the patient’s plan of care and goals
• Act at the direction and under the supervision of the treating Physical Therapist and in accordance with the plan of care
• Assist the treating Physical Therapist in documenting exercises in the patient’s chart and printing out exercises for home use as directed
• Participate in educating the patient and the family with exercises under the direct supervision of the treating Physical Therapist, and other caregivers

A few must-haves for Home Health Physical Therapist Assistants:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program and active PTA license in Arizona
• Minimum of one (1) year of physical therapy assistant experience, preferably in a home healthcare setting
• CPR Certification (demonstration course required)
• Valid Arizona Fingerprint Card
• Pass a background check and drug test (we are required to test for THC)
• Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations
• Good clinical judgment, strong interpersonal skills, dexterity, and compassion
