Job summary

Sinai Post Acute Nursing & Rehab in Newark, NJ is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support residents under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist. You will implement individualized treatment plans and provide therapies to improve residents' independence and functioning.

This full-time PTA role includes Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance, 401K, Holiday Pay, Paid Time Off, Overtime, and access to Same Day Pay and referral bonuses.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Licensed as required by the State.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Physical Therapist.
• Provides individualized physical therapy treatments including modalities and exercises.
• Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist during tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the physical therapist.
• Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under supervision.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) POSITION SUMMARY:

The Physical Therapist Assistant implements physical therapy programs and provides physical therapy treatments to residents to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1 Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Physical Therapist;

2 Provides individualized physical therapy treatments including modalities and exercises;

3 Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations, and complex procedures;

4 Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the physical therapist;

5 Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist;

6 Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident;

7 Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated;

8 Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physical therapist;

9 Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary;

10 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1 Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association.

2 Licensed as required by the State.
