Sterling Therapy Providers in Massachusetts is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to implement treatment plans under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist, helping residents gain independence and function.

You will contribute to patient care with therapy modalities and exercises, collaborate with the rehab team, and maintain accurate documentation while supporting families and residents in the therapy process.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Licensed as required by the State.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational skills and time management.

Responsibilities

• Implements resident's individualized PTA treatment plan.
• Provides PT treatments including modalities and exercises.
• Assists the Physical Therapist with tests and evaluations.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the physical therapist.
• Educates residents, families and caregivers in the therapy program under supervision.
• Works with rehabilitation team to develop programs matching resident needs.
• Maintains timely documentation for all residents treated.
• Attends care meetings as a PT representative.
• Cleans and reports equipment as needed.
• Ensures compassionate service recognizing residents’ needs and rights.

Rate: $40 to $42 PER HOUR

Position Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant implements physical therapy programs and provides physical therapy treatments to residents to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities

1. Implements resident's individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Physical Therapist;
2. Provides individualized physical therapy treatments including modalities and exercises;
3. Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations, and complex procedures;
4. Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the physical therapist;
5. Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist;
6. Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident;
7. Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated;
8. Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physical therapist;
9. Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary;
10. Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.

Specific Educational / Vocational Requirements

1. Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association.
2. Licensed as required by the State.
