Job summary

Santa Monica Healthcare Center is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide skilled therapy under supervision and support residents' rehabilitation goals within neuromuscular and musculoskeletal care.

The role requires an Associate degree in a PTA program and a California PTA license; one year of clinical experience is preferred. Salary ranges from $85,280 to $104,000 annually, with a sign-on bonus available and standard PTO benefits.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Performs tests and measurements for strength, ROM, and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Delivers direct clinical treatment per established plan of care and maintains patient records.
• May participate in home assessments to support safe discharge with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes forms and documents compliant with company policy and regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinincal treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.
