Job summary

Monterey Palms Healthcare Center is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). The role offers a salary range of $85,280 to $104,000 with sign-on bonus and benefits. You will administer treatments, perform tests for strength and motion, and support discharge planning under physician and PT supervision.

Requirements include an California PTA license and an associate degree; one year of clinical experience is preferred. This position is on-site and may require PRN/on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in California.
• Associate degree in PTA program required.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Measures muscle strength, range of motion, and vital signs as directed.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per established plan of care.
• Keeps patient records confidential and accurate.
• Assists with home assessments to aid discharge planning with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms per policy and regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinincal treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.
