Job summary

Hayward Hills Healthcare Center is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our caring team in Hayward, CA. The PTA will administer treatments, perform tests, and support discharge planning within scope of practice and federal guidelines.

Requirements include an Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant and a California PTA license. One year of clinical experience is preferred; PTO and referral bonuses are offered as benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
• One year of clinical experience is preferred.
• Current California PTA license is required to practice.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Measures muscle strength, range of motion, and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate in home assessments or discharge planning with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes forms and documents per company policy and regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinincal treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.
