Job summary

Palm Springs Healthcare Center is actively seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Palm Springs, CA. The role includes direct patient care within the established plan of care and collaboration with PT/OT to ensure safe discharges.

Qualified candidates hold an Associate degree in PTA, CA licensure, and preferably one year of clinical experience. A sign-on bonus is available, and job offers include PTO and referral bonuses as part of the benefits package.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
