FutureCare is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to help residents manage pain, restore movement, and improve muscle function according to treatment plans created by licensed physical therapists. Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current license or eligible for license under statutes in the State of Maryland.
• Training or experience in long-term or sub-acute setting.
• Prefer active membership in the state and national American Physical Therapy Association.
• Ability to understand and follow the directions of the Physical Therapist and the facility policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments to residents according to evaluations and treatment plans developed by the licensed Physical Therapist.
• Exercise sound judgment and provide effective and efficient care in the performance of duties.
• Observe, record, and report change in conditions to the licensed Physical Therapist and other staff.
• Track the need for reassessment and report changes in status that may indicate reassessment or referral.
• Maintain daily records of treatments and progress notes as directed by the therapist.
• Discontinue any treatment procedure that appears harmful and notify the appropriate staff.
• Ensure review of care rendered by the licensed Physical Therapist according to practice regulations.

• Discontinue immediately any treatment procedure that appears harmful to the resident/patient and notify the licensed physical therapist and other appropriate staff
• Ensure appropriate review of care rendered is performed by the licensed Physical Therapist according to practice regulations
