The Challenge (Job Summary)

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you have the opportunity to live our core values every day by helping our patients in all walks of life, providing high quality care, working with an excellent team, being a trusted resource for our patients and team members, and having an impact in the community through our engagement and volunteer efforts. In addition, the ideal candidate will work under the direction and supervision of physical therapists. PTA will help patients who are recovering from injuries and illnesses regain movement and manage pain. This is a part time position working afternoons and evenings.

Your Day to Day & Essential Functions:

• Observe patients before, during, and after therapy, noting patient status and reporting it to a physical therapist.
• Help patients do specific exercises as part of the plan of care.
• Treat patients using a variety of techniques, such as massage and stretching.
• Use devices and equipment, such as walkers, to help patients.
• Educate a patient and family members about what to do after treatment.
• Clean treatment areas and set up therapy equipment.

What You Need to Succeed (Competencies, Education):

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Ohio.
• Ability to read and comprehend patient information.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands: Physical Therapist Assistants may spend a lot of time on their feet while working with patients. May be required to lift and move patients or heavy equipment. Many work in multiple facilities and have to travel from one job to another. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 10 pounds.
