Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in New York.
• 3+ years of experience as a PTA.
• Hands-on experience with therapeutic exercises, functional training and physical modalities.
• Ability to communicate and instruct effectively.
• Ability to delegate appropriate support care to non-licensed staff and serve as a resource.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in patient care, notifying the supervising PT of the patient’s condition.
• Follows the Plan of Care established by the PT and practices within state guidelines.
• Instructs and counsels patients in exercises and recovery.
• Completes documentation in the EMR to support PT services.
• Under direct supervision of a PT, records daily notes.
• Educates patients on proper use of equipment and routines.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and a safe work environment.
