Job summary

Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego, part of Scripps Health, is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant for full-time inpatient rehab coverage. Work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to deliver patient-centered therapy, with exposure to diverse cases in inpatient and outpatient settings.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited PTA program, hold a California license (or pending) and maintain BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Must have PTA license in hand before start in California or be pending license.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the provision of therapy under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Demonstrate age appropriate care and adhere to policies and procedures.

The Physical Therapist Assistant assists in the provision of therapy under the supervision of the Physical Therapist who shall be responsible for the extent, kind, and quality of the services provided by the therapist assistant through a continuum of care. The work is performed according to the assistant's licensure/certification, Code of Ethics, Federal/State regulations, JCAHO/UMQC and Care Center policies and procedures. The Physical Therapist Assistant demonstrates the ability to perform competencies as outlined in the Rehabilitation Services Competency Assessment tools and demonstrates age specific care as established for area and job title.

Qualifications

Required Certification/Registration/Education

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Physical Therapist Assistant license or Pending license for State of California. Must have license in hand before start.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

• At least one year of experience as a PTA in an Inpatient/Acute Care setting
