Job summary

Kindred Hospital Brea is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a per diem role in a LTACH setting. You will assist in implementing patient care plans under a Physical Therapist, helping patients restore function and improve outcomes.

Requirements include PTA degree, current licensure, CPR as needed, and prior hospital or SNF experience. Training sessions and a focus on patient-centered care are emphasized as part of the team approach.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program with an associate degree.
• Current PTA licensure in the states where services are rendered.
• CPR certification when required.
• Hospital or SNF experience preferred.
• Available for required training sessions.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of the PT, implement rehabilitation care plans.
• Help patients participate in tasks to restore function.
• Communicate progress to supervisor and team; assist with scheduling and documentation.
• Document patient care in accordance with regulations and payer rules.
• Instruct family or nursing staff on follow-through programs.
• Maintain equipment and maintain a safe, clean work area.

Wage scale: $28.00 - $50.00 per hour

How You'll Contribute

• Work in a team where you will provide quality, compassionate care in a secure setting
• Under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, you will implement the patient's Care Plan for rehabilitation. Help mentally and/or physically impaired patients to participate in tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance their performance
• Communicate patient progress or problems to supervisor and other team members; assist with patient scheduling and post charges daily to patient records
• Document patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer and accrediting requirements
• Instruct patient's family or nursing staff in follow-through programs
• Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition
• Handle job responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, appropriate professional standard and applicable state/federal laws
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications And Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant / PTA program culminating in an associate degree.
• Current state licensure as Physical Therapy Assistant / PTA or equivalent in the states where services are rendered.
• CPR certification (when required)
• Candidates should have prior experience in a hospital or skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting.
• Must be available to participate in required training sessions
