Job summary

Kindred Hospital Santa Ana, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a per diem position at our Long-Term Acute Care Hospital. The role supports rehabilitation under a Physical Therapist, following the patient Care Plan and contributing to compassionate, quality care.

We offer a wage scale of $28.00 to $50.00 per hour, plus comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Current state licensure as PTA in the applicable states.
• CPR certification (where required).
• Experience in hospital or SNF settings preferred.
• Available to participate in required training sessions.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality, compassionate care in a secure setting.
• Assist with Care Plans and rehab activities as directed.
• Communicate progress to the supervisor and help with scheduling.
• Document patient care in accordance with regulations.
• Instruct family or nursing staff on follow-through programs.
• Maintain equipment and work area safety and cleanliness.
• Comply with company policies and applicable laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

How You'll Contribute

• Work in a team where you will provide quality, compassionate care in a secure setting
• Under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, you will implement the patient's Care Plan for rehabilitation. Help mentally and/or physically impaired patients to participate in tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance their performance
• Communicate patient progress or problems to supervisor and other team members; assist with patient scheduling and post charges daily to patient records
• Document patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer and accrediting requirements
• Instruct patient's family or nursing staff in follow-through programs
• Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition
• Handle job responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, appropriate professional standard and applicable state/federal laws
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications And Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant / PTA program culminating in an associate degree.
• Current state licensure as Physical Therapy Assistant / PTA or equivalent in the states where services are rendered.
• CPR certification (when required)
• Candidates should have prior experience in a hospital or skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting.
• Must be available to participate in required training sessions
