Job summary

WellSpan Health seeks a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to provide exercise therapy and patient education under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. You will support testing, evaluations, and complex procedures while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to meet patient goals.

The role requires an accredited PTA program graduate, an Associate degree, and current BLS certification, with weekend and holiday rotation as part of full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required for PTA licensing.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Carries out exercise and treatment programs for assigned patients as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Assists PT during patient testing, evaluations and complex procedures.
• Coordinates PT activities with the interdisciplinary team to meet goals.
• Ensures compliance with regulations from regulatory agencies and state bodies.
• Trains medical and nursing staff in PT techniques and objectives.
• Uses safe patient handling during transfers, lifts, and positioning.
• adheres to PA practice act in communication with the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Maintains patient records with documentation supporting medical necessity and functional progress.
