Job summary

WellSpan Health in Pennsylvania is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist Assistant to provide exercise instruction, treatment and patient education at an entry to intermediate skill level. You will support the PT during evaluations, coordinate therapy activities with the team and maintain accurate patient records.

The role requires an Associate degree, less than 1 year relevant experience, and licensure as a PTA plus Basic Life Support at hire.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required for PTA role.
• Experience as a PTA or related field preferred but not required.
• Ability to support PT evaluations and treatment planning.

Responsibilities

• Carries out a program of exercise and treatment for assigned patients, as determined by evaluation by the PT.
• Assists the PT during patient testing, evaluations and complex procedures.
• Coordinates PT activities with the interdisciplinary team to achieve goals.
• Ensures compliance with regulations and state governing bodies.
• Trains medical and nursing staff in PT techniques and objectives.
• Uses safe patient handling techniques for transfers, lifts and positioning.
• Maintains patient records to support medical necessity and functional ability.
